Monday the 20th of January 2014 marked a special day for all Mexican students studying here at TU Ilmenau as they celebrated their International Evening at BH Club with the able assistance of we4you student services. As is the norm with most international evenings, the special evening planned by the Mexican students this time around began with a very interesting and informative presentation about their country. This was followed by a special ‘salsa dance’ session, where interested participants had the opportunity to learn some basic salsa dance moves and practice with a partner of their choice. Teasing our appetite for authentic Mexican food was a variety of food items on offer. This included “Molletes” (beans and bread), “Arroz Mexicano” (rice), Quesidillas (cheese tortillas) and of course some traditional Mexican Guacamole. The celebrations continued with Tequila shots and plenty of dancing late into the night. All in all it was a wonderful celebration and a great way to be exposed to Mexican culture and traditions.
