Syrian Night April 2014

International Nights organized jointly by ISWI and we4you are always fun and more importantly there’s always plenty of good food for everyone. On the 14th of April this year it was the Syrians who took the reins and hosted a lovely evening at the bi student club and in doing so exposed students of TU ilmenau to their unique culture, cuisine and the landscape of their homeland. The menu for the evening was Ozi (rice with green peas, beef or soya meat), a delicious Lentil soup, some Hummus, salad and Falafels. Dinner was served early and this was immediately followed by a presentation about Syria and its important cities like Aleppo, Damascus, Homs and other big cities, which are quite well known. The celebrations continued with great music and some crazy antics on the dance floor. It was also a good opportunity for everyone to interact with Syrian students and discuss some of the prevailing issues in their homeland.
