Today: hsf international with Gare from Nigeria

Flyer hsf InternationalWelcome back to university! After welcoming the freshers last week by a barbecue and a hiking tour to the Kickelhahn, the ISWI programme is finally starting officially.

Our first recommendation is today’s “hsf international”, the English radio show for students by students. Our guest for today’s show is Gare.
He is a music producer and songwriter from the south-south region of Delta state Warri, Nigeria, West Africa. He had his first degree in mass communication and information technology and he’s currently doing his masters in media and communication science at TU Ilmenau. He produced and wrote for contemporary Nigerian artists in the past years and also spear headed audio settings for stage performances in Africa. He is currently working on his mixtape project “finding forever”. His genre of music is Alternative music and Hip hop, he mixes and masters songs as a hobby during his spare time. His philosophy is “stay true to yourself and the right people would find their way to your life”.‎ He would be playing some of his records on the show.
As always, the talk show is followed by 30 minutes of worldwide music. This time we are paying our tribute to the father of Afrobeat, Fela Kuti. We take you on a short trip to the Nigeria of the 60ies and 70ies and build a bridge to some contemporary Nigerian music, that is still very much influenced by this genre.

So tune in: Thursdays (even weeks), 7-9 pm on 98,1 UKW or via live stream on radio-hsf.de!
