Give-and-take festival 24th October 2015

The new semester begins and as usual the ISWI e.V. wants to start it with a Give-and-Take Festival, that will be held on Saturday 24 th October from 1pm to 5 pm in the foyer of the Humboldt-building.

If you have too many things that you don’t need anymore, bring them along and donate them. Many people from the entire city will bring many objects and you may also find interesting things that you would have bought otherwise.
If you can’t attend the festival but you want to donate stuff you don’t need anymore, you can bring it beforehand in our office (basement of Haus A, room 017, Max-Planck-Ring 7).
Your donation must be clean, fixed and usable.

We are still looking for people who want to share their knowledge about their interests and want to held a workshop. If you do, please contact us.
During the event we’ll offer coffee, home made cakes and there will be music for a nice atmosphere.
We would also appreciate, if you could bake some cake and share it with us.

Workshops that are already fixed:

  • Paella-cooking
  • DIY-screen printing (Please bring your own T-shirts and bags for the DIY-screen printing if you like.)
  • Beatboxing
  • DJing
  • Bicycle Repair Workshop

Give-and-take festival 18th October 2014

The new Semester begins and it will be starting with the ISWI give-and-take festival (1pm – 6pm, EAZ – Foyer). If you have too much things that you don’t really need anymore: Bring them along and give them away for free. Many people will bring many things and you also may find things that you would have bought else.

If you are unable to participate at that date but have things you want to give away either way: Just bring them to the ISWI office (anytime during the week, house A basement, Room 017)

Especially if you are new to Ilmenau: don’t buy all your plates and all that stuff. Get it for free at the ISWI give-and-take festival. At the end of your stay in Ilmenau you may give them again to the give-and-take festival so other persons can use them.

The ISWI give-and-take festival is a platform for giving away things and taking things. But it doesn’t end there:

If you have abilities that others might also want to have (e.g. cutting hairs, painting, shooting nice pictures, encryption of Emails, sewing, …) you can tell us beforehand and we will find a time on that day where you can share your skills! Of course you can also do that spontaneously!

We will also have cake and coffee based on donations and maybe we’ll have music playing.

Give and take festival 12th April 2014

At the start of the summer semester at the university ISWI welcomed students and city inhabitants and all interested people to join in the Give and Take Festival and make their contributions or simply take away things that were no longer useful to them. It took place on the 12th of April between 1-6pm and was attended by several students of TU Ilmenau and even some residents of the city. The wide range of items which were donated to the Give and Take Festival this semester included everything from old books, cutlery, utensils for cooking, clothes, shoes, home appliances and even old music records. There were also some interesting workshops like singing, card making, photography etc. which encouraged ample participation. Members of ISWI were also present at the festival and offered free tea, coffee, cake and sweets to all the visitors.
