ISWI’s events during freshmen week (ErstiWoche)

Get-to-know BBQ

Despite the weather forcast not looking very bright, we want to invite you for a Get-to-know BBQ on the lawn between houses H and I on October 3rd, starting from 5pm. Our friends of bi-Studentenclub will serve the BBQ while we offer you an international buffet with dishes from Japan, Russia, Spain, and Syria, among others. At the event, you can get to know your tutors and fellow students. If the weather allows we will also offer a stand where you can screenprint fabrics with beautiful motifs.

City Rally

Like every year, we will also be present at the ErstiWoche City Rally. We prepared a game for you, and you can get information on the numerous activities of ISWI e.V. On October 5th, you can find our stand in front of House E between 3pm and 7pm.

Kickelhahn hiking tour

On Friday, October 7th, we want to hike with you to the top of Kickelhahn, the highest mountain in Ilmenau’s surrounding area. Look forward to a wide view (which even inspired Goethe’s poetry), and some fun games which will help you to get to know your new fellow students better. We start at 3pm in front of Mensa.

Don’t miss …

… today’s hsf international – the international radio show. Our guest Karla will tell you more about Mexico. Right after the talk, Benno will present two fantastic bands from Latin America: La Vela Puerca from Uruguay and Buena Vista Social Club from Kuba. And last but not least: Gare, Tosin and Johan have a new episode of “Was ist los?” for you.

Tune in: 7-10 pm on 98,1 UKW or via stream on www.radio-hsf.de!

Get to know the Ilmenau refugees’ network

Flyer_Netzwerktreffen_engl_webAs you may know, we have a refugees’ network, where a group of volunteers helps refugees get started into their new day-to-day life.

Switch on your radio …

… to listen to the repeat show of hsf international. Our guest was Horia from Romania. For worldwide music, Johny picked a nice band from Japan to play it to you. And “Was ist los?” dealt with the following topics (among others): Ecuador earthquake, the movies “Jungle book”, the Brazilian Presidential Impeachment, current events, dating disasters, ridiculous things happening to friends & childhood mistakes.

Have fun: 7 pm on 98.1 UKW or via http://radio-hsf.de
