Share the joy of Christmas
Concept
Many international students stay in Ilmenau during Christmas. That’s why we are planning a Christmas exchange together with the we4you at TU Ilmenau. We will match international students with hosts (e.g. families, fellow students from Germany) who will invite them to their Christmas party or at one of the Christmas holidays. We also plan an additional program for the students at Christmas and over the New Year.

After the Corona break last year, we want to bring people together again this year for Christmas.
For hosts
If you would like to invite one or more students to your home for a day or longer during the Christmas season, please register here.
Even if you are celebrating outside of Ilmenau, you are welcome to take part in the exchange – many students are also happy to come to you. After registration We will then put you in touch with the international students who have registered with us. You can decide for yourselves what you would like to invite the international students to – for example, for a coffee, a walk, for presents or even an overnight stay. This way you can not only get to know people from other parts of the world, but also exchange Christmas traditions.

If you would like to take part in the Christmas exchange, please register here.
Afterwards we will match you with the hosts who have registered with us. This will give you the opportunity to spend Christmas in the company of your hosts and to get to know their Christmas traditions. It is up to the hosts to decide what they want to invite you to – for example, for a coffee, a walk, to give presents or even to spend the night. They will certainly be happy to receive a small gift from you.
Program during Christmas and New Year
If you would like to take part in our events during Christmas and New Year, you can either register directly during the registration for the Christmas exchange or send us an email at christmas@iswi.org separately. Together with the we4you tutors, we plan events such as game nights or joint cooking in the period from 24th to 31th December. We are also open to your ideas and wishes. Please register now!.
