With this project we want to welcome refugees in Thuringia and especially Ilmenau. Furthermore, our aim is to help refugees to integrate within the community and feel more comfortable here.
In our opinion, this cooperation could be a good way to improve the intercultural communication between the citizens of Ilmenau and the refugees. We want to promote mutual understanding, getting to know each other and building new friendships.
Therefore, in November and December 2014, the support network “Refugees Welcome” was founded in Ilmenau. The ISWI e.V. supports the network by providing infrastructure, knowledge and (wo)manpower.
